New Best Start Family Hubs are launching across Cheshire West and Chester this October half term, bringing together advice, activities and support for families.
Cheshire West and Chester Council says launch activities will take place at hubs in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich and Winsford.
The programme is additional to the borough’s existing Children’s Centres. It is intended to help families find services locally, from pregnancy and the early years through to support for older children and young people.
What support will be available?
The hubs will provide information and guidance on parenting, child development, infant feeding, emotional wellbeing, special educational needs and disabilities, relationships, employment and financial wellbeing.
The council says bringing services together should make it easier to find help without having to approach several organisations separately.
Free launch activities
The launch-week programme includes stay-and-play sessions, family activities, parenting support and health and wellbeing advice.
Visitors will also be able to meet staff, learn about available services and find out how to use the hubs’ new online booking system.
Councillor Adam Langan, the council’s cabinet member for children, young people and families, encouraged families to visit their local hub and meet the teams.
Check arrangements before visiting
The supplied announcement does not list individual session dates, addresses or opening hours. Families should check Cheshire West and Chester Council’s official social media channels for the launch programme and any booking requirements before travelling.
Different activities may have different arrangements, so the announcement should not be taken to mean every session is available as an unbooked drop-in.
